Kinston Indians News Release
Just four games out of first place, Kinston starts a seven game homestand tonight at Historic Grainger Stadium. Game time 6:30 pm at Historic Grainger Stadium.
Kinston Sweeps On The Road - The K-Tribe swept Potomac with a hit happy 13-7 win Wednesday in Woodbridge, VA. Two K-Tribers homered and Casey Frawley set a season high with five RBI's to Support starter Giovanni Soto, who never trailed in picking up his fourth win of the season. Kinstons first sweep of 2011 has the Tribe to within one game of .500 for the first time since the 11th of April.
Home Run Heroes - Coming into the last roadtrip, Kinston had hit just one home run on the road this season. Over the last six games, the K-Tribe added six jacks to the previously anemic road totals. Casey Frawley has been responsible for three homers, including a ninth inning, game winner against Frederick on the 22nd. Jeremie Tice returned from the DL and added his first homer of the season on Monday against Potomac. Bo Greenwell added his third blast of the year on Wednesday, 2 of Greenwell's three homers have come against Potomac. Kinston has picked up its third and fourth multi home run games of the season in the last four days.
Riding High - With a series sweep against Potomac locked up on 5/25, The K-Tribe is as hot as they have been all season. Kinston's first sweep of the year was the third straight series victory for the K-Tribe and Wednesday's win marks the third time this season Kinston has won a season high four games in a row. Against Potomac, Kinston set 2011 single game highs for Runs, hits in an inning, extra base hits, batters in an inning, home runs, doubles and walks. The last time Kinston was four games out of first was also the last time the Indians faced the Dash, on April 16th.
