
Jupiter Avoids Sweep with Ninth Inning Rally

JUPITER, Fla. (May 11, 2013) - Ryan Goetz delivered a walk-off victory, 5-4, for Jupiter Hammerheads with a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning to avoid a sweep by the Fort Myers Miracle.
Goetz smashed a 2-2 pitch from Miracle reliever Corey Williams into the gap in right center field with runners on the corners to secure the win. All four runs in the ninth and the loss were charged to Dakota Watts. After pitching a perfect eighth, Watts (1-1) gave up four hits and two runs before Goetz' winning double.
Hammerheads reliever Jordan Conley (0-1) pitched the ninth and ended up with the victory.
Miracle starter D.J. Baxendale received a no decision after striking out six over seven innings. Baxendale gave up just one unearned run.
Fort Myers built up a 4-1 lead with runs in the second, fourth, seventh and eighth innings. Jairo Rodriguez finished the game 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
