Juniors Shutout Remparts

The Montreal Juniors jumped out to an early lead and then rode the goaltending magic of JF Berube for a 1-0 win over the Telus East Division leading Quebec Remparts Friday night in Quebec City.

The lone goal in the contest came at 11:57 of the first period off the stick of Trevor Parkes. The goal was the 23rd of the season for Parkes, who leads all goal scorers for the Juniors. The goal was assisted by Philip Lefevre and Charles Olivier-Roussel.

Berube turned aside all 26 shots he faced to pick up the win and his second shutout of the season. Both Quebec goalies saw action, turning aside 21 of the 22 shots fired their way by the Juniors.

NOTES: The Montreal Juniors return home next week for an early matinee at 10:35am on Tuesday vs the Lewiston MAINEiacs and then a 7:05pm start Wednesday night versus the visiting Halifax Mooseheads.
