Juniors Fall Short of Victory in Overtime

Drummondville, September 19th 2010 - The Montreal Juniors encountered the Drummondville Voltigeurs this afternoon at the Marcel Dionne Center. The Juniors fell to 1-1-2-0 on the season, losing in overtime by a final score of 4-3.

Drummondville opened the scoring in the first period with a goal by right winger Julien Tremblay, followed by another goal at 13:48 by Marc-Olivier Vachon, his second goal of the season. With less than a minute remaining, Denis Kindle of Montreal scored, assisted by defenseman Francis Meilleur.

47 seconds into the second period, Denis Kindl scored his second goal of the game, evening the score at 2-2. Michael Clarke followed with a goal at 11:55, assisted by defenseman Matt Provost and center Dylan Anderson, giving the lead to Montreal.

In the last ten seconds of the third period Marc-Olivier Vachon scored his second goal of the night, bringing the score to 3-3 and sending the game into overtime.

Drummondville's Sean Couturier ended the game in the last seconds in overtime, securing the win for the Voltigeurs.

For the second time this season, William Racicot was the starting goalie for the Montreal team, blocking 25 of 29 shots on net. His opponent in nets, Dominic Graham allowed three of 19 shots.

The Juniors will be playing again at home next Friday and Saturday, September 24th and 25th, at the Verdun Auditorium when they face off against the Saint John Seadogs, and the Val d'Or Foreurs.
