Juniors Fall In Shootout To The Oceanic 4 To 3

Montreal, November 29th, 2009 - The Montreal Juniors battled the Oceanic in Rimouski this afternoon and lost in a shootout by the score of 5 to 4. Juniors forward Louis Marc-Aubry scored two goals while Guillaume Asselin and Eliezer Sherbatov also had a goal each. Alex Emond, Mathieu Loisel, Patrice Cormier, and Emmanuel Boudreau scored for the Oceanic. Defenseman Gleason Fournier scored the shootout winner for the Oceanic.
In the first ten minutes of game, Rimouski got two quick goals from Alex Emond and Mathieu Loisel. However, Montreal countered with goals by forwards Louis Marc-Aubry and Guillaume Asselin at 14:37 and 17:52 in the first to tie the game. Oceanic captain Patrice Cormier would give Rimouski the lead again when he scored his tenth of the season at 18:09.
In the second period, the Juniors came back to tie it when Aubry put the puck past Matthew Dopud for his second of the afternoon at 2:49. Junior winger Eliezer Sherbatov gave Montreal the led as he scored at 3:39 of the third. Yet, Oceanic defenseman Emmanuel Boudreau tied the game for Rimouski at 15:21, which forced the game to overtime. The match was eventually decided in a shootout where Rimouski defenseman Gleason Fournier got the shootout winner. The Oceanic defeated the Juinors by the score of 5 to 4.
Juniors goalie Jean-Francois Berube denied 23 shots in the loss. Oceanic goalie Matthew Dopud stopped 36 shots in the win. Montreal's record is 13-14-0-2 while the Oceanic record is at 14-12-3-0.
The Juniors will open a four-game homestand starting with the Rimouski Oceanic on Friday, December 4th at 7:35PM. Dvision rival Val-d'Or Foreurs will be in town on Sunday, December 6th at 4:05PM. Montreal will host the Chicoutimi Saguneens and the Baie-Comeau Drakkar respectively on December 9th and December 11th at 7:35PM.
