Juniors double up Saguenéens

Montreal, March 3rd, 2009 - For the first time this season, the Montreal Junior welcomed the Chicoutimi Sagueneens for an evening matchup on Tuesday night. The Junior walked away with the win by a final score of 4-2.

The first period saw both teams exchange chances as goalies Jake Allen for the Junior and Francois Lévesque for Chicoutimi battled to for their respective teams. Guillaume Asselin got the Junior on the board with his 17th goal of the season on a power play opportunity, to put his team up by one to enter the second.

Chicoutimi came out with force scoring two unanswered goals in the period to take the lead. Both Mathieu Tousignant and Jacob Lagacé found the back of the net.

With a one goal deficit entering the third, the Junior came out in force scoring three unanswered goals. Pier-Antoine Dion, Matthew Brenton and Louis-Marc Aubry each tallied for Montreal to bring the final score to 4-2 in favor of the Junior.

The Junior will play on the road in Chicoutimi on Friday night followed by a matchup in Baie Comeau on Sunday afternoon. The Junior will then play Rimouski on Tuesday night and will return home to play Rouyn Noranda on Friday the 13th of March.
