
Juniors crush Lewiston

Montreal, March 1st, 2009 - Two goal efforts by Dmitri Kostromitin and Guillaume Asselin was only part of the offence the Montreal Junior produced on Sunday afternoon. Facing off against the Lewiston MAINEiacs, the Juniors won by a score of 7-2.
The first period didn't produce any offence, with teams trading chances at either end. Entering the second the Junior would go on an offensive surge!
With a loose puck in front of the net, Junior Darik St. Marie was able to cash to put his team up by one, at 2:11 of the second. Eight seconds later, the Junior would strike again, as Matthew Brenton put his team up by two with his 12th goal of the season at 2:19. Two goals weren't enough for the Junior, as leading scorer Nick Layton found the back of the net at 3:29. Dmitri Kostromitin would then put the Junior up 4-0 at 12:29 of the second with a power-play goal. Lewiston would finally get themselves on the board at 15:37 with a goal tallied by Alexander Beaton while the teams were playing four-on-four.
Entering the third, up three goals the Junior continued their offensive ways with two goals by Guillaume Asselin, and Dmitiri Kostromitin's second goal of the evening. The MAINEiacs responded with a goal by Ãtienne Brodeur. The Junior were no match for Lewiston tonight as they walked away with two points in a 7-2 win.
The Junior will play again on Tuesday night facing off against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, followed by a match up against Rouyn Noranda on the 13th of March.
