Junior dance team moves to the Vision

ATLANTA, GA - September 19, 2005- Atlanta Vision is in search for the most talented young dancers for their new Junior Vision Dance Team. Young talent will showcase their skills during two half-time performances of Atlanta's newest professional sport franchise. The Atlanta Vision is an official member of the American Basketball Association and play their season from November to March at The Samson's Center in Lithonia, Georgia.

The Junior Vision Dancers will be lead by the talented Vanessa Gibson, Director and Choreographer of the Atlanta Vision. Mrs.Gibson has over 25 years of dance experience and has performed on stage in 'Beauty Shop", in films such as 'Stompin' at the Savoy" with Debbie Allen and in performances for numerous artists including Will Smith, Prince, and Janet Jackson. She is also a co-owner and instructor at Eagles Landing Dance Studio in Stockbridge, Georgia.

Vanessa began her dancing career at age 7 and has been dancing ever since. She also performed as a promotional 'Atlanta Braves Kid" and is excited about directing her own junior dance team for the Vision. 'Being a part of a youth dance team for professional sports is great for an aspiring star." states Mrs. Gibson, 'Young talent will experience the fun, the discipline, and the excitement of performing for an interactive crowd!" Akilah Townsend, co-owner of the Atlanta Vision adds, 'Vanessa's choreography is so energetic, it encompasses all dance styles and music."

Girls and boys with dance experience, ages 7 to 17, are invited to join. There are no auditions, but space is limited. Total program cost of the Junior Vision Dance Team is $175 and includes rehearsals, web page, uniforms and more. Interested participants can pre-register on-line at www.theatlantavision.com while space is available. Registration deadline is Monday, October 10th and orientation will be held on Saturday, November 5th at The Samson's Center, 6400 Woodrow Road, Lithonia, Georgia, 30038
