Jr. K-Wings McDonald Honored

Kalamazoo, MI-The Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, proud member of the NAHL's North Division proudly announce Chad McDonald has been named to the NAHL's Three Stars of the Week.

Named as the third star of the week, McDonald is the first Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings player to receive this honor and it comes after the first weekend of games. The Jr. K-Wings played four games over the past weekend in the NAHL Showcase in Blaine Minnesota going 2-2 during that stretch.

While in Blaine, McDonald accumulated a total of eight points in four games. His six goals were good enough for second most in the entire tournament. Chad McDonald's breakout game came against the Dawson Creek Rage where he accounted for five goals and an assist. Three of his five goals were scored on the power play and one came shorthanded.

McDonald's last goal came in the final game for the Jr. K-Wings as he scored an empty netter to seal the victory against the Bismarck Bobcats.

The Jr. K-Wings will return to the Borgess Health Rink at Wings West on Saturday, September 24h for a 2 p.m. home opening contest versus the Jamestown Ironmen.
