The Springfield Jr. Blues travel to Flint, Michigan this weekend to play the Michigan Warriors for the second time in three weeks. The Jr. Blues look to get back on track this weekend, going 0-3-1 in their last 4 games. The Jr. Blues are 0-4 against the last place Warriors this season, all 4 loses coming at home in Springfield. The Jr. Blues are currently tied for 6th place in the North Division with the Janesville Jets, 7 points behind the 5th place Port Huron Fighting Falcons.
The Jr. Blues announced Thursday that Brett Skibba has committed to the University of Connecticut for the 2013-14 season. The Jr. Blues look for Skibba and other forwards, Ryan Atkinson, Jeff McFarland, Parker Johnson and others to get the offense going this weekend. An offense that has been shutout in 2 of the last 3 games.
Following this weekend's game, Skibba, Atkinson and Alex Baskakov will participate in the NAHL Top Prospect Event next weekend in Troy, Michigan. They will be representing team Great Lakes with Janesville, Kalamazoo, Coulee Region and Topeka.
