Springfield Jr. Blues News Release
Niko Dellamaggorie made 34 saves for his first NAHL shutout as the Springfield Jr. Blues won 1-0 over the Michigan Warriors Saturday night.
It was a sweep for Springfield two weeks after being swept in two games at the hands of the Warriors up in Flint; interestingly enough, the second loss in that series was also a 1-0 decision. It's the first shutout for Springfield.
Jason Dhooghe, fresh off his two-game stint with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL, scored a power play goal at the 7:45 mark of the first period, with Joshua Lammon and Michael Crowley getting assists.
That's all the scoring Springfield would do, and Dellamaggorie made several key saves along the way. The Warriors had a few big chances in the last minute with an extra attacker, and had one shot sail off the right post, but Dellamaggorie held the fort down.
Springfield peppered Michigan goalie Ryan Wischow with 39 shots.
The Jr. Blues have a three-game series at Sault Ste Marie starting next Thursday.
