Springfield Jr. Blues News Release
Springfield, Illinois - The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that we have signed forward Dakota Lenz to a tender agreement for the 2023-24 season.
Lenz, a native of Urbandale, IA, split time this past season with the Granite City Lumberjacks and the Mason City Toros of the NA3HL. He tallied 5 points In 7 games with Granite City and notched 9 goals and 10 assists in 23 games in a Toros jersey.
Dakota is the seventh player to sign a tender with the Jr. Blues for the 2023-24 season as he joins Dylan Glinski (Drumheller Dragons), Brando DiAntonio (Biggby U18), Trey Jefferis (Philly Jr. Flyers U18), Nick Bunch (Belle Tire U18), Jayer Luedke (Carshield U18), Zach Howard (St. Thomas Academy), and Caden Hagarty (Rosemount HS).
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team and may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which is held each year in June.
