Marion Blue Racers News Release
MARION, OH- The Marion Blue Racers are proud to announce that they have come to terms with former Bowling Green State University standout and 3-year NFL veteran Joshua Harris. Harris, a 2003 Heisman Trophy candidate, will return as the trigger man for the Marion Blue Racers Professional Football Team.
Harris was drafted in the sixth round by the Baltimore Ravens in 2004. He joins Head Coach Lorenzo Styles, Offensive Line Coach Melvin Tuten, and Blue Racer CEO and General Manager LaMonte Coleman as NFL alumni in the Marion Blue Racer organization. Additionally, Harris, paired with former IFL quarterback turned Blue Racer Offensive Coordinator Marc Huddleston, will help ease the transition from last year's CIFL offense, to the double high motion arena style offense used in the UIFL.
"We just got better today. With the re-signing of Josh Harris, we've got a proven winner, in the indoor football game, at the helm of our offense," Vice President of Operations, Ryan Sawyer said. "Not only has Josh led the Marion Blue Racers to a Championship game, he has also done it with the Columbus Destroyers in the AFL as well."
The Blue Racer Season kicks off against rival Cincinnati, in the Cincinnati Gardens on March 3rd, 2012.
