Marion CMO Sawyer Lands Job with NY Cosmos of the NASL
MARION, OH -- The Marion Blue Racers are proud to announce that Chief Marketing Officer Ryan Sawyer has been hired by the New York Cosmos as a senior account executive. In addition to four seasons working with the Blue Racers, Ryan was an intern for the Columbus Clippers and, since July 2013, has worked in ticket sales for the Columbus Crew. The New York Cosmos are members of the North American Soccer League (NASL), a league established in 1967, comprised of 12 professional teams located in the United States and Canada. The Cosmos joined the original NASL, which operated from 1968-1984 on December 10, 1970. Their inaugural game was a 1-0 victory in 1971 against the Washington Darts at Yankee Stadium.
The Cosmos currently play at Schuart Stadium at Hofstra University with a seating capacity of 11,929. They rejoined the NASL in its current form in 2012 and last season became the 2013 NASL Champions. In Spring 2016, the team is projected to move into the new Cosmos Stadium.
