August 13, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Alaska Aces News Release

Josh Bogorad, the TV & Radio Play-by-Play Broadcaster of the Alaska Aces since 2010, is leaving Alaska to join the Dallas Stars of the NHL, Aces Managing Member, Terry Parks announced on Tuesday. Bogorad has accepted a job as the Stars Pre-Game/Post-Game and Intermission host of their radio broadcasts. He will remain with the Aces through the end of August while the team prepares for the upcoming season. The Aces have already begun their search for a new broadcaster. The Alaska Aces will begin the 2013-2014 season at home on Friday, October 18 at Sullivan Arena when they host the San Francisco Bulls. Season ticket and sponsorship packages are currently available through the Aces office at 15th & Gambell. Bogorad, 33, exits Anchorage after serving as the Aces Play-by-Play Broadcaster & Vice President of Operations for the last three seasons. He joined the team in September 2010, and called every minute of Alaska's Kelly Cup Championship run that season. In each of his three years with the Aces, Bogorad was voted a finalist for ECHL Broadcaster of the Year, winning the honor in 2011. In additional to calling Aces games on radio and television, Bogorad oversaw Alaska's team operations, media relations, served as a sales executive, and acted as the team's Alternate Governor. Bogorad said that he was excited for his new opportunity, and will always cherish the three years he spent with the Aces.

"For as long as I can remember, it's been a dream of mine to work in the NHL," Bogorad said. "I am so excited to get to Dallas and start the season. But at the same time, it is very difficult to leave the Aces after spending three incredible years here. Since I came to Alaska, I got married, had my first child, and called my first championship. Both personally and professionally, my time here has been an incredible part of my life that I will always look back on fondly. I'd like to thank Terry Parks and the ownership group, the entire Aces organization, and the incredible Aces fans for everything over the last three years. It has been a privilege to work for such a quality organization with such incredible fans. I appreciate everyone who made this such a special place for me and my family."

Bogorad is the second straight Aces broadcaster to head straight to the NHL from Alaska. In 2010 Bogorad took over for former Aces Voice, Jack Michaels, who became the play-by-play broadcaster for the Edmonton Oilers. Parks said that he was excited for Bogorad, and that he will be missed by the organization.

"This is an exciting day for Josh and the Aces organization," Parks said. "It is definitely bittersweet to say goodbye to someone who has become such a big part of our organization, but we are thrilled for the opportunity Josh has. Like any coach or player, Josh is someone who aspired to advance in his career, and we are so proud that he's been able to do that. Anyone who knows him knows that this is well deserved. We are very happy for him and his family. He'll always remain a part of the Aces family."
