
Jon Olczak Named BC Powder Relief Pitcher of the Month: May

MARIETTA, GA - The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs are proud to announce that Biloxi Shuckers RHP Jon Olczak has been named the BC® Relief Pitcher of the Month for May.
Olczak, 24, earns BC® Relief Pitcher of the Month honors following 10 appearances in which he posted a 0.59 ERA (1 ER/15.1 IP) with four walks (two intentional) and 17 strikeouts. The Fayetteville, North Carolina native recorded three holds and limited opponents to a .182 batting average (10-for-55). Olczak also inherited 10 baserunners across six outings in May, allowing none to score. In those games, Biloxi posted a 5-1 record with all five victories decided by just seven total runs.
Currently in his first Southern League season, Olczak is tied for the league lead with five holds and leads all qualified pitchers with just 0.76 walks per nine innings pitched. He also ranks fourth among qualified relievers this year by allowing only 8.75 total baserunners per nine innings pitched.
Selected by Milwaukee in the 21st round of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft out of North Carolina State, Olczak currently has a career 3.01 ERA through 86 total minor league games in the Brewers organization.
