Johnstown Hockeyville: Final Four Voting Is Underway

April 21, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Johnstown Tomahawks News Release

Today's the day that voting has resumed for Round 2 of the Kraft Hockeyville contest. In this round, we're going head-to-head against Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan for the right to advance to the national finals. Voting is open all day today (Tuesday, April 21) and all day tomorrow (Wednesday, April 22).

PLEASE -- do your part to vote as much as possible, and encourage everyone to do the same. If your'e a return voter from Round 1, make sure you PRESS OPTION 1 to vote for Johnstown when you call. Old habits die hard, but if you're pressing option 2 like last week, you're actually voting for Michigan.

We've heard some great stories of how Johnstown supporters have helped get votes from military bases around the country, retirement communities in Florida, even travelers waiting at the Nashville airport. We'll need more of that kind of support if we're going to advance toward the grand prize package of $150,000 in committee-approved upgrades at the Cambria County War Memorial, the opportunity to host an NHL preseason game, and the much-deserved title of the best hockey community in the country.

You can vote 50 times per day (April 21 and April 22), per each of the following methods:

* Text "CAMBRIA" to 35350

* Call Toll-Free 1-855-255-5975 - SELECT OPTION 1

* Vote at KraftHockeyville.com

A few quick notes on voting: You can vote 50 times per day by texting from each cell phone, and 50 times per day by calling the toll free number from each of your phone lines (cell phone

or landline).

Registering to vote online is very quick and very easy. Online voting only takes a few minutes, so it's a great way for those who can't vote by text or phone to support Johnstown.

Other ways to help:

* Please like our Johnstown Hockeyville Facebook Page.

It's the best place to find news, info and resources you can share with your online friends to spread the word.

* Go to the Hockeyville page at JohnstownTomahawks.com to find information or download digital files that you can e-mail to your contacts to promote Hockeyville.

* Contact the Tomahawks office at 814-536-4625 or fill out this form if you would like to volunteer to distribute flyers. We'll need lots of help this Sunday if we advance to the final round.

* Set up a voting party or voting drive at your workplace, school, or wherever you hang out. Even seemingly small efforts have helped produce thousands of votes per day from a single location, and that's exactly what we'll need to move on. You don't need to do anything special to set up these drives, but feel free to call the Tomahawks office at 814-536-4625 for questions or help!

Frequently asked questions:

* How did we do in Round One?

All we can say is we did well enough to advance. The contest does not give us any feedback on how many votes we tallied or how we compared to any of the other communities.

* Is there a charge to vote by text?

No. The only charge you may incur is if your provider normally charges you to send or receive texts. If you have unlimited texting, there is no charge.

* Help! I can't get through to vote!

The voting system had some issues this morning, but everything appears to be working now.

* When do they announce the winner of Round 2?

We expect the winner to be announced this Saturday during NBC's broadcast of the NHL playoffs. We'll post any more news we have on the Johnstown Hockeyville Facebook page.

Thanks for the time and support. Now let's get voting!
