Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Steve Martinson announced on Tuesday that rookie winger Chaz Johnson has been loaned to the IceHogs' American Hockey League affiliate Milwaukee Admirals. The call-up is the third of the season for Johnson.
The rookie center joins Rockford skaters Greg Barber, Corey Hessler and Nathan Lutz, who began the season with the Hogs, on the Admirals roster. Milwaukee currently trails the first place Houston Aeros by just two points in the standings. Milwaukee is set to embark on a crucial five-game road swing through Canada that will cover eight days beginning tomorrow night against the Hamilton Bulldogs.
On the season, Johnson has 22g-20a-42pts and 235 penalty minutes with a plus/minus rating of +11 in 61 games. Johnson appeared in one game for the Admirals earlier this season. The rookie center is one of 13 IceHogs players to get loaned to the AHL this season. TIP-A-HOG TONIGHT AT THE 10TH INNING
The Rockford IceHogs are hosting its first ever Tip-A-Hog for charity tonight from 6-8 p.m. at The 10th Inning Bar and Grill located at 5825 East Riverside Blvd. In Rockford. All the IceHogs on the current roster will be in attendance waiting and bartending at The 10th Inning. All tips collected will be donated to the IceHogs Charitable Foundation.
The IceHogs Charitable Foundation will distribute the proceeds to not-for-profit organizations in the Rock River Valley. All fans in attendance can register to win some prizes from the IceHogs, including tickets to this weekend's games, merchandise and a Steve Martinson Bobblehead Doll.
