June 22, 2013 - American Association (AA)
Laredo Lemurs News Release

Kansas, KS - John Allen picked up two hits Friday night, with the first one helping him break the American Association record for career hits record of 670 set by Bryan Fryer, a former teammate of Allen's in Fort Worth.  With the two hits, Allen now has 672, in his six plus years of play in the American Association.

Allen has swung his bat in three different leagues, including the defunct Central Baseball League, the Can-Am League and the American Association amassing 895 hits to date in his career.

Allen has also played for three teams, including the Fort Worth Cats where he picked up 677 hits while playing in the American Association and the Central Baseball League.  Allen played 55 games in 2007 with the Brockton Rox in the Can-Am League gathering 55 hits with that team.  With the Laredo Lemurs Allen has busted out 163 hits in 125 games over a season and a third and is still going strong.

A native of Wichita Falls, TX, Allen also needs two runs to claim that record at 343 from Albenis Machado and he owns the marks for RBI (418), home runs (80) and doubles (151).

Single game tickets, season tickets, suite rentals, and group packages are on sale now.  For more information, call the Lemurs' office at 956-7LEMURS or visit the Lemurs' official website at www.laredolemurs.com.
