Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release

Friday Night The Jets dropped the puck in Alexandria and battled back to knot the game at 4-4 but would eventually falter in a shoot out 5-4.

After jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead thanks to Michael Schumacher (Duluth, MN) as Jordy Trottier (Bozeman, MT) set up the play beautifully by ripping the puck on Blizz tender Brenden Desjardins and the rebound went the way of Schumacher but it wouldn't hold long. Joe Hartman (St. Cloud, MN) would use the hooking penalty called on Brandon Bukowski (Superior, WI) to set up the game tying goal and ending the period at 1-1.

The second would open with another Jets lead as Joe Beaudette (Blaine, MN) slid one on the short side of Desjardins making 2-1. Once again the lead would be short lived as Brandon Bahnemann (Rochester, MN) and Mikael Lickteig (Little Falls, MN) each added a goal closing out the second on top 3-2.

Over 10 minutes would go by and another Alexandria goal before the Jets used a power-play and a swift feed from Trottier to Robby Philipp (Thief River Falls, MN) cutting the deficit 4-3. Cody Bottom (Thief River Falls, MN) worked the puck behind the Blizzard net and bounced it off of Desjardins for the sweet game tying goal and sending it to overtime.

In the extra frame both Zacharias and Desjardins made incredible saves keeping it tied and making the shootout possible. Trottier would get the party started with a spectacular goal that was followed by Beaudette but it wouldn't be enough as the Blizzard won the round 5-4 and the game 5-4.

Overall the Jets played a very good game defensively and new comer Mason Swenson (Eagan, MN) provided an assist while not turning the puck over. Justin Kirchevel (Brookings, SD) was tagged for two delay of game misconducts while adding two assists in the loss.

Saturday Night I great stocking stuffer for all as Dakota Collins (Gilbert, AZ) notches his first goal and the Jets end slump 5-3 over the Blizzard.

The Jets jumped out to a comanding 3-0 lead thanks in part to a Alexandria turnover in the slot and Andrew Kuechler (Lomira, WI) made they pay. Michael Schumacher (Duluth, MN) would net the second goal with a little help from his friend in Jordy Trottier (Bozeman, MT) putting the Blizzard down 2-0. Collins would put away his first ever goal for the Jets that sent Alexandria goalie Brenden Desjardins to showers with an early exit. The Jets were out shot 14-10 but not out scored 3-1 after one.

Marc Harrie (Fargo, ND) would eventually get the game winner and Trottier would tag on another assist making 4-1 but the Blizzard would battle back. The teams would go back and forth with scoring chances left and right and Elliot Okland (Fargo, ND) keeping the Jets on top after two periods 4-1.

Jens Nilsson (Sweden) and Mikael Lickteig (Little Falls) each buried a goal putting it at a one goal game late in the third and once again Okland came up huge sliding left and right making 42 saves in all. Schumacher would add a late empty netter with Trottier finishing the night with a hat trick of assists. The Jets end up winners 5-3 for the first time since November 9th and head into the holiday layover on a much higher note.

Stocking Stuffer Win Finally the time had come for a win and a much needed win in fact. After falling Friday but still managing a point the Jets fed off the momentum and carried it over to Sunday scoring three early goals. They would hold on after a pesky Blizzard squad didn't want to end their four game winning streak.

Break in the Action It's time for boys to head home and enjoy time with their families and refresh their injuries and minds in time for the second half surge. With a hockey schedule of over 60 games, work and play the guys get a bit worn out by this time and this is exactly what the doctor ordered.

King of the Road The Jets have wrapped up their series with Alexandria for the month of December at 1-0-1 collecting three points. A high note was played before the break and hopefully will carry over in Bismarck later this month with three games against the Bobcats and only two points separate them from fourth place in the central.

Unwrap Flex Packs Fans can get into the action for not only themselves but the ones around them by grabbing a 5-game or 10-game packs of Flex tickets.
