Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release

(Marquette, MI) - Nobody likes losing, especially on the road; Saturday night was not a night to remember as the Marquette Rangers put away a 6-5 win at Lakeview arena.

It was a typical beautiful afternoon in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that turned ugly in a few short minutes as the Rangers came out on fire netting two goals by Dustin Partacz (Naperville, IL) and Mike Macari (Dearborn Heights, MI) in the first six minutes. As the Rangers begun to celebrate the Jets blitzed them for three goals of their own, Pat Dietz (Moorhead, MN), Roman Krivda (Ukraine) and Andrew Kuechler (Lomira, WI). The first though would end in a 3-3 tie.

After two quick goals to open up the second, starting tender David Bosner (St. Louis, MO) was pulled and Elliot Okland (Fargo, ND) was the go-to guy. Bosner went down in the first after making some great saves on his back but continued to turn aside shots. The Jets would pull to within one at 5-4, with a blue line blast from Nathan Allen (Delafield, WI). "I haven't been much of an offensive force so far being on defense," said Allen the night before. Well, you are now, kid! The Jets would go into the second intermission down 6-4.

Things wouldn't get any better as the Rangers continued to work on the power-play and the Jets watched the clock run down. Robby Philipp (Thief River Falls, MN) would net the final goal for the Jets on the man advantage but it was too little too late. The game ended with Andy Dittus (Minot, ND) getting into a scuffle as Saturday night was alright for fighting!

The Jets play host to Alexandria on Thursday night at 7:30pm for "College Night." Ticket and beverage discounts with a student ID all night.
