IceDiggers win in Traverse City

Alpena MI: The Alpena IceDiggers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after forty minutes and cruised to a 4-1 victory on Saturday night in Traverse City versus the North Stars.

Jon Puskar led the Diggers' offensively with two goals, while Mike DeGrazia and Ryan Sell also scored in the contest. The tally for Sell was his first junior "A" goal.

Isaac Viau chipped in two assists. Erik Peterson, Andy Yarber, Jimmy McCusker, Ryan Timar and Adam Kuhn all had one assist.

"I am proud of all the guys, they came out and played a good road game, we got the lead early and stayed with the game plan and was able to get the win." said head coach Kenny Miller. "Those were four big points this weekend and we were able to get all four."

Nate Pellegrino was stellar in goal for Alpena making 33 saves for his third win of the year and second in a row. Pellegrino allowed one goal on sixty-five shots during the two game series.

"Nate was the difference again tonight, every time he gets the start he expects to play this way and everyone on this team feels the same way." added Miller

The IceDiggers return to Northern Lights Arena next Friday and Saturday as they play host to the Mahoning Valley Phantoms. Face for both games is set for 7:00PM.
