(Fargo, ND) Mihulka and Okland give the Jets new life in a home sweep of North Iowa.
Offensive: Marc Mihulka (Grand Forks, ND) has worn the "C" over his heart this season because of plays like this weekend. On Friday played the puck every which way possible and assisted on third goal of the game to Robby Philipp. Saturday night was no different as Mihulka netted two goals and a dime to his teaming leading 40 points. Pounding shots on net almost lead to hats covering the ice but he settled for two goal and two assists on the weekend.
"With our backs against the wall to win, Mihulka answered the call as captain," states coach Kinslow.
On the season Mihulka has skated in all 39 games providing 40 points (14G, 26A) already eclipsing his total from last year of 25 points.
Defensive: Elliot Okland (Fargo, ND) backstopped the Jets to a pair of home wins over the visiting first place North Iowa Outlaws. Okland stood tall in Friday night's 3-1 victory as he pitched a shutout for 58:00 turning aside 23 shots and collecting his first win of the year against the Outlaws. Saturday night was a huge success for Okland as he redirected 26 shots and helped sweep North Iowa out of town. It was all in a weekend work for Elliot who shined for the second straight week in the crease.
"He rose to the occasion with solid play all around and I couldn't be happier," proclaims coach Kinslow.
On the season Okland has appeared in 31 games boasting a 12-16-1 record with a shut out, 3.02 GAA and a .913 save percentage.
