Schlegel Sports and the Texas Tornado announced the 4th Annual Pros -vs- Prospects Charity Classic at the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Frisco on March 21, 2008 at 7:30 pm. Tickets go on sale today and are $25 per person.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the Texas Tornado ticket office at 972.335.9800.
Pros vs. Prospects is a unique hockey game matching current and retired NHL alumni against future NHL prospects. This year, the Texas Tornado will take on Luc Robitaille, Pat Verbeek, Neal Broten, Gerald Diduck, and Greg Adams to name a few. In addition, celebrity guests who don't play hockey will become coaches for the game.
"This event was born during the NHL lockout and was such a huge success, we decided to make it an annual event benefiting local charities," said Kirby Schlegel, founder of Schlegel Sports which owns the Texas Tornado. "The game is a lot of fun for the players and celebrity coaches, and the fans also have a great time."
The two teams also will participate in a pre-game skate on Friday, March 21 from 11 a.m. to noon, which is free and open to the public.
The Pros vs. Prospects will benefit the Frisco Education Foundation which has a mission to provide financial resources to maximize student potential in the Frisco Independent School District through educational scholarships for high school seniors and teachers through innovative "Grants for Great Ideas."
