Jets Get Cat Scratch Fever, 5-4
October 19, 2007 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release
(Fargo, ND) - It's not every day you get a run for your money and the Jets were run out of their hanger, 5-4.
The first period saw Bismarck jump on top 3-0 with a pair of goals from Tye Lewis (Vancouver, WA) and Cody Keefer (Big Rapids, MI). It was Robby Philipp (Thief River Falls, MN) who got the rally fixed with a power-play goal to bring the Jets within two at 3-1.
Things didn't get any better as the 'Cats pounded Jet's tender Elliot Okland (Fargo, ND) for another quick one and it was 4-1 all over again. The Jets would battle back with all their might as Philipp and Erick Galt (Fargo, ND) made it 4-3, ending the second.
It would take everything the Jets had to tie the score at 4-4 from Andrew Harrison's stick. The lead would hold for umm...:54 seconds as Lewis gets the game-winner. All in all the Jets were just out played for portions of the game and it hurt them down the stretch, falling 5-4.
Philipp finished with two goals and an assist (5G, 9A). Erick Galt continues to roll nailing down another goal and an assist (2G, 9A). Okland falls to 6-4-1, 2.83 GAA and .930 save percentage.
The Jets host the Southern Minnesota Express at 7:00pm on Saturday with the first post-game skate of the year to follow.
