(Marquette, MI) On the road and in a hostile environment the Jets hold on for a 5-4 win against Marquette.
It wasn't pretty by any means but a W is a W on paper and the Jet's got their offense in gear with a goal by Roman Krivda (Ukraine) as the game was tied 1-1 in the first. Mark Johnson (Bloomington, MN) continued his scoring tear by adding another on the man advantage closing out the final two minutes of the first period to put the Jets up 2-1.
One for the money, two the for show and a three goal lead is exactly what the Jets got from Robby Philipp (Thief River Falls, MN) and Mike Schumacher (Duluth, MN) as it was 4-1 like that. The Rangers wouldn't go away as Josh Bussell (LaSalle, MI) put away two goals to pull to within 4-3.
It was Erick Galt (Fargo, ND) who kept the Jets on top with a game winner in the third and Elliot Okland (Fargo, ND) held on for win between the pipes, 5-4.
The Rangers out shot the Jets 36-28 and kept up their end of the intensity down the stretch but fell to 5-5-0 on the season. While the Jets improved to 6-2-1 overall getting their first win in Marquette.
