Jets Brock Kautz, Ruslan Pedan and Zach Diamantoni Earn NAHL Notice

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced today that Janesville Jets Brock Kautz was named the league-wide Runner-Up Goaltender of the Month for December.

A Rochester, MN, native, Kautz (6'1", 180 lbs) was outstanding in goal for the Jets during December posting a record of 4 - 1. His highlights include a December 1st 5 - 0 shutout versus the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings and leading the Jets to a two-game road sweep against the Coulee Region Chill, including stopping 43 saves in a thrilling 3 - 2 victory.

Kautz closed the month of December by stopping 41 shots in a 4-3 road win against the Port Huron Fighting Falcons on New Year's Eve. On New Year's Day, Kautz notched another shutout in a matinee 3 - 0 victory against the Fighting Falcons and was named the number one star of the game.

During his five December games, Kautz had a great 1.60 goals against average and an amazing 95.42 save percentage. Currently for the season, Kautz is tied for sixth in the NAHL with a save percentage of .927 and is 13th with a goals against average of 2.45.

"Brock gives us a chance to win every game he plays," said Jets Head Coach Joe Dibble. "He competes at such a high level everyday that he makes everyone around him better."

Also, Ruslan Pedan (6'1", 175), the stellar Jets player from Moscow, Russia, was named one of the NAHL Month of December Honorable Mention Defenseman.

In the Jets 3 -1 win against the Coulee Region Chill on December 7th, Pedan scored the first goal and then had two assists, notching three total points. Versus the Springfield Jr. Blues, Pedan had a goal and an assist in the Jets 5 - 1 victory on December 21st and scored the Jets only goal the next night in regulation time and the Jets only shootout score in the team's 2 -1 overtime loss.

Pedan currently is in second place on the Jets scoring leaderboard this year. In only 24 games played, the defenseman has 7 goals and 10 assists for 17 total points.

Said Jets Coach Dibble, "Ruslan is a kid that works for everything he gets, a rink rat who always wants to be on the ice to improve his game."

And Jets forward Zach Diamantoni was also named a NAHL Month of December Honorable Mention player. Diamantoni (5'9", 170 lbs.), from Brighton, MI, was an assist machine during December.

The top-notch playmaker had three assists in the Jets 5-0 win against Kalamazoo, a goal and an assist in the Jets 3 - 1 victory versus Coulee Region, another assist the next night against the Chill in the team's 3 - 2 win, and then Diamantoni had three assists in the Jets New Year's Eve 4 - 3 win.

Diamantoni is the fourth leading scorer so far this season for the Jets with 15 total points (4 goals and 11 assists) in 28 games.

"Zach leads by what he does on the ice, his work ethic is off of the charts". stated Dibble. "He is a very strong player that is getting better and better everyday."

The Janesville Jets play at home both tonight (Friday) and Saturday versus the Jamestown Ironmen. Tonight's game starts at 7 PM with the box office opening at 5:45 PM. Saturday's game now has a face-off start time of 5 PM with the box office opening at 3:45 PM.
