SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The JetHawks scored six runs in the top of the third inning en route to an 8-6 victory over the Inland Empire 66ers on Thursday night at San Manuel Stadium.
The victory gave the JetHawks (65-51) the series win and their fourth straight series decision over Inland Empire (40-77).
Akeem Bostick (4-1) picked up the victory after allowing four runs over 5.2 innings. Dean Deetz earned his first save of the season with a perfect ninth inning.
The six runs in the third inning came on six hits including RBI-singles from Bobby Boyd, Jamie Ritchie and a two-run double from Trent Woodward.
Lancaster tacked on a run in the fourth on a Boyd sac-fly, and the club added an unearned run in the seventh.
Johnny Sewald went 4-for-5 at the plate with a pair of doubles. He added his 20th stolen base of the season as well.
66ers starter Jake Jewell (1-12) cruised through the first two frames but suffered the loss.
Inland Empire catcher Taylor Ward put the 66ers on the board first with a two-run home run in the second inning.
The JetHawks begin a three-game series with the San Jose Giants on Friday night at The Hangar. Jose Hernandez makes the start for Lancaster against Connor Menez. First pitch is 6:35 p.m.
