May 5, 2009 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Oregon Waves News Release

Portland, Oregon-the International Basketball League team from Beaverton Oregon (the Oregon Wave, playing games at the Beaverton Hoop/YMCA as seen on following page) has added point guard Jeremiah Dominguez to an already loaded roster. Jeremiah Dominguez was the Big Sky Conference player of the year (2007/2008 season) and a former State of Oregon high school player of the year after his senior season (South Salem in 2004). Dominguez led the Portland State University Vikings to two NCAA berths in his junior and senior seasons. Dominguez joins 7' 2" Brad Kanis (described below) as the final players named to the Wave roster as they now prepares for their home opener this Friday vs the Snohomish Explosion.

Rest of the roster: besides Jeremiah Dominguez, the 2009 Oregon Wave roster will feature these 5 players, among others:

7' 2" Brad Kanis-is a late developer who at 7' 2" is strong, athletic, injury free and just coming into his own. It is the strong opinion of the IBL that Brad Kanis is a hidden superstar that won't be in the IBL very long after the first NBA scouts take a good look at him in an actual game. Kanis

6' 8" David Lucas, the former Tigard High School star was a two-time All-PAC 10 performer for the Oregon State Beavers (2004/2005) before moving on to an international professional career. Lucas led the IBL in scoring in '07 and '08 (37 ppg).

6' 5" David Jackson finished his collegiate career at the University of Oregon. A veteran of NBA camps (Portland, Cleveland), and NBA summer league teams (Portland, San Antonio, Orlando, Seattle), Jackson also has extensive experience overseas in Italy, China, Spain and Turkey. The following is a link to highlights of a recent Korean basketball league championship game where Jackson scored 44 points (30 in the 2nd half)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tejH-5sydjc

6' 5" Robert Day-was a star player at Western Oregon and has played professionally, internationally over the last 5 years.

6' 4" Lamar Hurd-is well known for his play for the Oregon State Beavers-a 4 year starter for Oregon State.

IBL Commissioner Mikal Duilio on a Beaverton team playing out of the Beaverton Hoop facility: "Our product is so efficient that we do not need 3,000 fans per night behind it to survive; that being said, we would like a decent amount of fans at the games and we feel that the YMCA and their new building-'the Hoop' offers a great opportunity to build a fan base".

Vision for the Wave: the Wave would like to have a state identity as the top players from various Oregon universities.

About owner Terrance Dickens-in 2005, Terrance Dickens started the Vancouver Volcanoes with IBL Commissioner Mikal Duilio in the IBL's first season; Dickens and Duilio sold the team after the two seasons (the Volcanoes are now heading into their fifth year of existence under owner Bryan Hunter). Terrance Dickens has a four-year history as a head coach of an IBL team-Dickens coached the Portland Chinooks to the 2007 IBL Championship losing 113-109 to the Elkhart (Indiana) Express in front of 3,300 fans (video on IBL web site, main page, scroll to video called 'Elkhart wins').
