Oregon Waves News Release

March 17, 2011: the International Basketball League is heading into its 7th season. The Oregon Waves is heading into their 3rd year and the City of Portland's 7th year of involvement in the International Basketball League (first few years for a Portland team were with the Portland Chinooks-a team owned by Terry Emmert). Waves Head Coach and owner Terrance Dickens heads up this third year Oregon Waves team; Dickens believes that with a lot of returning players and some key acquisitions, the Waves will have a 'rebound season'. Seven players have indicated that they will play for the Oregon Waves-

1. Isaiah Fox (6' 9'') - Arizona

2. JS Nash (6' 2'') - Oregon State

3. Lamar Hurd (6' 4'') - Oregon State

4. Robert Day (6' 4'') - Western Oregon

5. David Jackson (6' 5'') - Oregon

6. Well known Oregon native, 6' 8'' forward David Lucas will be in his fourth season with the IBL, Lucas led the IBL in scoring with 37 ppg in both 2007 & 2008.

7. Also joining the team is 5' 10'' Terrence Whiters, who last played with the New York Knicks Summer League team and is currently playing overseas at the Division 1 level. Some IBL fans might remember Terrence Whiters leading the Central Oregon Hotshots in 2008 with 37 ppg in 5 games played.

Note: Josh Craft-is a co-owner and will serve as an assistant coach as well-from Gresham Oregon.

2011 schedule: the Oregon Waves will tip off at home on Thursday May 5th vs the Los Angeles Lightning.
