Snohomish County Explosion News Release

Devon Greene returns to Phoenix to take care of immediate family issue Monroe, Washington - May 5th 2009 - Courtyard Media Foundation announced today that the Snohomish County Explosion will be without their leading scorer Devon Greene immediately and indefinitely as he attends to an urgent family issue back home in Arizona. The IBL leading scorer was made aware of an issues immediately after defeating Japan 146-129 Saturday night in Monroe. Greene was the leading scorer that night as he had 7 rebounds to go with his 44 points. Greene is currently shooting 52% from the three point line, with 42.3 points, and 11 rebounds per game season average. His return to the Explosion is unknown at this time.

Devon has been the key to the Explosion's 4-3 start and the team will now look to Richard Ford, and the remaining players to pick up the deficit in both scoring and rebounding. "Devon will be missed but this will be a good chance for our bench to get some minutes and see how we can do with out or leading scorer." commented head coach Chris Weakley at practice on Monday.

The Explosion will find out these answers soon enough as they take on the Oregon Waves this Friday, and then the Vancouver Volcanoes the following week currently 5-1 on the season. The Explosion return home on May 30th against the Vancouver Titans and tickets can still be purchased online at www.explosionbasketball.net or via the phone at 425-339-BALL.
