Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jeff Suppan will make a rehabilitation start for the Nashville Sounds in Thursday's 7 p.m. game against Sacramento, the Brewers announced on Sunday.
The right-hander has been on Milwaukee's 15-day disabled list since July 28th with a strained left oblique.
Suppan's outing with the Sounds will be his second rehab start. He allowed four runs in 3 1/3 innings for Class A Wisconsin on Saturday.
Prior to his injury, the 34-year-old hurler went 5-8 with a 5.27 ERA (67er/114.1ip) in 21 starts for the Brewers this season.
In his 17 pro seasons, Suppan has pitched for six different organizations (Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Royals, Pirates, Cardinals, Brewers) and appeared in 403 Major League contests, posting a 133-131 record.
Suppan will be the second Major League hurler to appear with the Sounds this season on a rehab assignment. Brewers closer Trevor Hoffman made two appearances with Nashville in April.
