Jazz legend Marsalis to appear with Pittsburgh Xplosion Saturday

PITTSBURGH, October 6, 2006 - Legendary jazz musician Wynton Marsalis will make a special appearance with the Pittsburgh Xplosion at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. on Saturday, October 7 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM.

Marsalis will participate in recreational time with the team to support the Xplosion's efforts to reach out to area youth through basketball.

Marsalis is in town to perform a live concert at WQED studios to inaugurate Velocity Broadcasting's "In Higher Definition Private Performance Series." The special performance will be available on screens nationwide, but only in participating Morton's Steakhouse restaurants.

The Pittsburgh Xplosion opens its inaugural season in the Continental Basketball Association on Friday, December 1 at Albany. The team's first home game will be played at Mellon Arena on Wednesday, December 6 versus Vancouver. Season ticket packages start at $125.
