
Jay Romig named Director of New Orleans VooDoo

The New Orleans VooDoo have announced today that they have named Jay Romig to the position of Director.
Romig, a New Orleans native, brings 30 years of sports and managerial experience with the New Orleans Saints to the position. Most recently, he has served as the club's IS/Applications Support Manager. From 2003-04 he served as Chairman of the NFL's Technical Advisory Committee.
In addition to his computer-related duties with the Saints, Romig has also helped coordinate stadium operations for the team at the Louisiana Superdome. He has also served as coordinator of the team's summer training camps in Hammond and La Crosse, Wisconsin, and has helped manage camps recently held in Thibodaux and Jackson, Mississippi. Romig started working for the Saints in 1977, serving his first year as an intern with the franchise in the athletic training and equipment departments.
As Director of the VooDoo, Romig will oversee the coordination of all aspects of VooDoo administrative operations including sales, marketing and game operations for the team.

A native New Orleanian, Romig graduated from Brother Martin High School in 1972, and earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of New Orleans where he graduated in 1977. He served as a student trainer for the Privateers for three years and also served as their head trainer for six months. He has been a member of the Sugar Bowl organization for 20 years, chairing the Ticket and Stadium committees for several years. He is currently a member of the Sugar Bowl's Executive committee.
