(Hoover, AL) July 5th- The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx snapped a seven game road losing streak on Thursday night as the Diamond Jaxx defeated the Birmingham Barons 6-1 in game two of a four game series from Regions Park.

Justin Thomas pitched six solid innings for the victory. Thomas (3-5) allowed a run on six hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Chad Fillinger pitched the final three innings for his first save of the season. Charlton Jimerson led the Diamond Jaxx offense with a three run homer off losing pitcher Jack Egbert (8-7). It was the 15th homer of the year for Jimerson and just the second off Egbert this season in 109 innings of work. Marshall Hubbard had two RBI's and Brent Johnson chipped in with two hits as the Diamond Jaxx moved their second half record to 6-12.

The Barons got their only run of the game in the first inning. Chris Kelly drove in the run with a two out single. The loss drops the Barons record to 6-12 in the second half of the Southern League season.

Game three of the four game series takes place on Friday night at 7:05 CDT. Righty Andy Baldwin (1-9 5.10) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. The Barons will counter with lefty Gio Gonzalez (6-4 2.91).
