
Jaxx blasted by Suns 11-6 on Thursday night

Jacksonville, Fla. (April 16, 2009) - The Diamond Jaxx would drop game three and the series to the Suns on Thursday night, as the Suns blast the Diamond Jaxx 11-6 in front of 8,425 at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
The Diamond Jaxx jumped on the board first, in the top of the second with an RBI base knock off the bat of Matt Mangini. The hit scored Brent Johnson who led the inning off with a walk.
The Jaxx lead would not last long as the Suns would answer in the bottom of the second with four runs. The Suns got a leadoff walk from Kevin Randel, followed by a double from Brad Davis, then a 2-RBI double from Tim Torres put the Suns up 2-1. Lorenzo Scott would follow with his first homer of the season, it was a 2-run shot to right. The Suns lead 4-1 after two.
The Jaxx would add two in the top of the fourth. Adam Moore would lead the inning off with a walk, then Jaxx left fielder Brent Johnson went to the opposite field to right for his second homer of the year. Jaxx trailed 4-3.
Jacksonville would add three more in the fourth as Lorenzo Scott would once again punish the Diamond Jaxx. With one on and nobody out, Scott ripped a 2-0 pitch to left-center for an RBI triple. The Suns would add two more in the inning and lead 7-3 after four.
Kyle Parker (0-1) would go three innings in the start and give up six earned runs on seven hits. He would strike out three and walk four. Suns starter, Willie Glen (1-1) would deal six innings, giving up three runs while scattering nine hits.
Former Diamond Jaxx infielder, Matt Craig would hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the sixth, giving the Suns an 8-3 lead.
The Jaxx would grab a run in the top of the seventh, as the Suns committed two errors to begin the inning and Adam Moore brought Ezequiel Carrera in from third on a sacrifice fly. Jaxx trail 8-4
The Suns were not done as they would hit their third homer of the game. This time it was Bryan Peterson hitting a 3-run blast to right off of Jaxx reliever Aaron Cotter, putting Jacksonville on top 11-4.
In the ninth, Erick Monzon would hit is second long ball on the year, plating Carrera. The 2-run blast would be it for the Jaxx as they fall to the Suns 11-6 and fall to 4-4 on the year.
The Jaxx and Suns will play game four of this five game series on Friday at 6:05 CDT. On the hill for the Jaxx making his second start of the year will be RHP Luis Munoz (0-0, 0.00). He will be opposed by RHP Aaron Thompson (1-0, 0.00) for Jacksonville.
