2022-23 BATTALION REGULAR-SEASON SUMMARY
FIRST GOAL: The Battalion is 21-0-1 when scoring the first goal of a game and 9-11-1 when the opposing team scores first.
AFTER TWO PERIODS: The Battalion is 22-1-1 when leading after two periods, 1-10-0 when trailing after the second, and 7-0-1 when tied at the end of the second.
ONE-GOAL DECISIONS: The Battalion is 8-5-2 in games decided by one goal.
OFFENCE: The Battalion ranks 2nd in OHL scoring with an average of 4.28 goals per game (184 in 43 games), trailing the Windsor Spitfires at 4.67 (196 in 42 games).
DEFENCE: The Battalion has the 2nd-best defensive record in the OHL, allowing an average of 2.88 goals per game (124 against in 43 games). The Ottawa 67's lead with an average of 2.45 (103 against in 42 games).
POWER PLAY: The Battalion is 12th in power-play efficiency with a scoring percentage of 21.7. The Troops have scored 35 goals on 161 opportunities.
PENALTY KILLING: The Battalion is 1st in penalty-killing with an effectiveness of 86.3 percent. The Troops have allowed 24 power-play goals during 175 times shorthanded.
PENALTY MINUTES: The Battalion is the 10th-most penalized team in the OHL, averaging 11.7 minutes per game.
EVEN STRENGTH: The Battalion has scored 149 goals at even strength or when shorthanded, and surrendered 100 goals at even strength or with the man advantage.

The Battalion is 12 points ahead of its pace of 2021-22 when the Troops finished first in the Central Division and third overall in the OHL with a record of 43-18-7 for 93 points in 68 games. The Battalion won a 5-2 over the visiting Kingston Frontenacs in its 44th game last season.
TROOPS AMONG OHL LEADERS:
MATVEY PETROV: Left winger Petrov has 20 goals and 41 assists for 60 points in 42 games and is tied for 3rd in the OHL scoring race. He's tied for 2nd in assists (41), and tied 5th in power-play assists (17) and plus-minus (+24).

KYLE JACKSON: Overage centre Jackson has 25 goals and 34 assists for 59 points in 43 games and is 6th in the OHL scoring race. He is tied for 5th in game-winning goals (5) and tied 9th in goals (25) and assists (34).
TY NELSON: Defenceman Nelson has 15 goals and 38 assists for 53 points in 43 games and is 2nd in goals (15), assists (38) and points (53) by OHL rearguards. He's 6th among all players in assists (38), and tied for 11th in the OHL scoring race (53 points).
JOSH BLOOM: Left winger Bloom has 21 goals and 26 assists for 47 points in 45 games with the Battalion and Saginaw Spirit. He is tied for the league-lead with three shorthanded goals.
DALYN WAKELY: Centre Wakely has 19 goals and 12 assists for 31 points in 43 games. He is tied for 9th in the OHL with four game-winning goals.
KYLE McDONALD: Overage right winger McDonald has 17 goals and eight assists for 25 points in 20 games and is tied for 9th in game-winning goals (4).
PAUL CHRISTOPOULOS: Defenceman Christopoulos has one goal and 14 assists for 15 points in 43 games and leads the OHL in plus-minus (+34).
NIKITA TARASEVICH: Forward Tarasevich has 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points, all career highs, in 42 games. He is tied for the OHL lead with three shorthanded goals, and tied 11th in plus-minus (+22).
DOM DiVINCENTIIS: Goaltender DiVincentiis is 23-6-1 with a 2.51 goals-against average and .910 save percentage. He leads all netminders in wins (23) and average (2.51), and is 2nd in save percentage (.910).
