Jacksonville Slam News Release
Jacksonville, FL. Head Coach Clemon Johnson of the ABA Jacksonville Wave today announced that the team will conduct its second open tryout camp as it searches for hidden talent.
The camp will be held on Saturday, August 21 at Dillard High School, 2501 N.W. 11th Street in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. According to Johnson, "We are making excellent progress in putting a strong team together, but we know there are players in the area who have not tried out - and who have the skills to play the ABA brand of fast-paced, high scoring professional basketball. With schools like Miami, Florida, Florida State, Jacksonville and others, there are some top players - and we're looking for them."
Registration for the camp will begin promptly at 8AM and should conclude by 5PM. The fee for participating is $100. The registration fee must be paid with a money order or cashier's check. Participants are required to bring their own practice gear. Gatorade and t-shirts/jerseys will be provided by the Wave. Participants will be required to sign a waiver and complete a registration form before being permitted to practice. You must be physically prepared to participate in drills and scrimmages for a full eight hour day. This camp is for professional basketball players and is not open to anyone who still wishes to play amateur basketball.
