Birch Run, MI (January 17, 2005) â The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Great Lakes Storm guard Jermaine Jackson was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the week of January 9-15.
Jackson posted 19 points, 13.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds per game in two games played, as he helped the Storm to an undefeated 3-0 record during the week. He also added two steals while shooting 62 percent (13 of 21) from the floor, and 92 percent (11 of 12) from the free-throw line. In a 116-113 (5-2) victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce on January 11, Jackson notched 19 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds. The following night, he posted 19 points, 14 assists and seven rebounds in a 118-98 (6-1) victory over Sioux Falls.
Jackson is the fourth Storm player to win Player of the Week this season. This is the second time Jackson has won Player of the Week in his CBA career. This is the seventh time a Great Lakes Storm player has won the Player of the Week Award since their inaugural season in 2002-03. Others to win the award were James Head (1/05/03-1/11/03), Jermaine Jackson (1/19/03-1/25/03), Brian Lubeck (12/21/03-12/27/03), Ezra Williams (11/19/04-11/27/04), Mark Jones (12/5/04-12/11/04), and Jackie Butler (12/26/04-1/01/05).
