Jackson wins Player of the Week (again)

Birch Run, MI (January 31, 2005) – The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Great Lakes Storm guard Jermaine Jackson was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the week of January 23-29.

Jackson posted 19.6 points and 15.7 assists per game last week as he led the Storm to a 3-0 record, and an overall nine-game winning streak. He also added 5.7 rebounds and 1.0 steal per contest, while shooting 60.0 percent (18 of 30) from the floor, 86.0 percent (19 of 22) from the free-throw line, and 66.0 percent (4 of 6) from behind the three-point line. In a 135-130 (5-2) overtime victory over the Rockford Lightning on January 25, he notched 19 points, 17 assists and seven rebounds. The 17 assists was a Storm single-game franchise record. Two nights later he posted 23 points, 16 assists and five rebounds in a 135-127 (5.5-1.5) victory over the Gary Steelheads.

This is the fifth time a Storm player has won Player of the Week this season. This is the third time Jackson has won Player of the Week in his CBA career. Others to win the award this season were Ezra Williams (11/19/04-11/27/04), Mark Jones (12/5/04-12/11/04), Jackie Butler (12/26/04-1/01/05), and Jermaine Jackson (1/9/05-1/15/05).
