Jacks Fall 6-3 in Preseason Finale

WINONA, MN - In the final preseason game before the 2012 NAHL Showcase, the Odessa Jackalopes fell to South Division rivals, the Corpus Christi IceRays, Monday at St. Mary's University Ice Arena in Winona, Minnesota.
For the second consecutive preseason game, Odessa forwards Dominic Valencia and Zac Sikich both scored, with Valencia picking up a second point when he set up former Minot Minotauro Mike Mezzano for an even-strength goal midway through the second period.
Corpus Christi got a hat trick from Brendan Berkley, two goals from former New Mexico Mustang Charles Baldwin and a first-minute goal on a deflected point shot by Phil Pietroniro just 21 seconds into the game to take home a 6-3 win in the lone preseason game on the IceRays' 2012-13 exhibition schedule.
Next up for the Jackalopes, it's the season-opening first game of the NAHL Showcase, an 8 pm showdown with the West Division's Fairbanks Ice Dogs, on Wednesday, September 12th at Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota
