JackHammers release 2007 schedule

JOLIET, IL-The Joliet JackHammers 2007 schedule kicks off with a seven game home stand beginning on May 17, 2007 when the JackHammers host the Calgary Vipers at Silver Cross Field. The JackHammers sixth season begins with four games against Calgary and three against Winnipeg from May 17-23.

"I am extremely excited to release the 2007 schedule so our fans can look forward to planning their nights at Silver Cross Field," said JackHammers executive vice president/general manager Kelly Sufka. "We can't wait to build on the excitement of last season's thrilling second half!"

After the JackHammers open up the season at home, the team heads on the road for their longest road trip of the season from May 25 until June 3. The ten-day trip makes stops in Calgary, Edmonton and Kansas City. The JackHammers return home on June 5 for the first divisional games at Silver Cross Field when the Schaumburg Flyers open up a three-game series. The JackHammers play at home 49 times in 2007 with seven games on Friday and Saturday, eight on Sunday, three on Monday, seven on Tuesday, nine on Wednesday, and eight on Thursday.

"It's great to release the schedule right now, it gives us the best possible opportunity to start work right away on the 2007 promotional schedule," said Sufka. "We will work hard to build our best promotional schedule yet."

Loose Gravel: The Northern League Board of Directors voted to switch the names of the two Northern League divisions back to the North-South format. The 2006 East Division (housing Schaumburg, Gary, Kansas City and Joliet) has it's name switched back to the South Division. The 2006 West Division (housing Fargo-Moorhead, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Calgary) will once again be known as the North Division. The two divisions in the Northern League were known as the North-South Divisions in 2004 and 2005.

Loose Gravel: The JackHammers will host the annual Fall Family Fun Festival Tuesday, October 24 at 6:30 at Silver Cross Field. Game three of the World Series will be shown on the video board. There will be hot dogs, Pepsi products, and hot chocolate available for purchase. Fans can look forward to face painting and trick-or-treating and have the option of bringing a carved, baseball-themed pumpkin to be judged in the pumpkin carving contest. JackHammers season ticket and mini plan holders that received an invitation in the mail are asked to R.S.V.P. to their ticket account representative. The JackHammers will also have staff members on hand to answer questions about 2007 ticket packages.
