JOLIET, IL - For the upcoming six game home stand the Joliet JackHammers will welcome the Lincoln Saltdogs and the Sioux City Explorers to town. Games start this Friday, June 24 and continue through Wednesday, June 29. It will be the first appearance at Silver Cross Field this season for both the Saltdogs and the Explorers.
The JackHammers are planning to start this home stand off with a bang! The game on Friday, June 24th against the Lincoln Saltdogs will feature a fantastic post-game fireworks display presented by the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Chevy Dealers. On Saturday, The Blues Brothers, Jake and Elwood return to their roots. The Blues Brothers, presented by the University of Saint Francis and 100.7 RXQ, will be sure to delight fans of all ages. And to wrap up the festive weekend, on Sunday the Joliet JackHammers and Western Union will pay tribute to the Negro Leagues. Several former Negro League players, including Johnny Washington, Charles Johnson, Hank Presswood and Ernie Westfield will be on hand to sign autographs before and during the game. In honor of these players, both the Lincoln Saltdogs and the JackHammers will be wearing replica Negro League uniforms.
The series against the Sioux City Explorers starts Monday, June 27 with the final Money Monday giveaway presented by First Midwest Bank. The first 1,000 fans will receive an envelope of cash, either $1, $5, $10 and some lucky fans will even receive $50 or $100! Senior citizens can also receive two dollars off on box seats for Monday's game.
You do not want to miss the game on Tuesday, June 28 - where Jammer will be celebrating his fourth birthday!! To celebrate, Jammer has invited a bunch of his mascot friends; Benny the Bull (Chicago Bulls), Southpaw (Chicago White Sox), Staley Da Bear (Chicago Bears), Sparky (Chicago Fire) and many more. After the game, Jammer will share his delicious birthday cake from Milano's Bakery with all the kids. And remember, every Tuesday home game starts early at 6:05pm for Cub Foods Family Night where kids can run the bases after the game. Tuesday night is also the Herald News Book Buddies where kids can redeem their reading vouchers for FREE admission to the game!
The home stand comes to a close on Wednesday, June 29th and of course the evening is packed full of fun. It is once again Women's Wednesday which means, any female (or anyone else!) who comes to the game wearing a skirt or dress will receive two dollars off the price of their ticket. This week is also our "Salute to Blondes." You will want to arrive early to meet the members of the Chicago Bandits women's softball team who will be signing autographs before the game. And you do not want to miss the Jessie White Tumblers who will be performing their high-flying tumbling routine.
The JackHammers have single game and full season tickets as well as mini-plan ticket packages and group ticket packages available for purchase. There is a discount for groups of 20 or more.
