
Jackals to Host Russian National Team on May 17th

LITTLE FALLS, NJ - The New Jersey Jackals today announced their 2003 pre-season schedule, which includes a doubleheader against the visiting Russian National Team.
The Jackals, who have won three league championships in the last five seasons, will host the Russian National Team on Saturday May 17th at Yogi Berra Stadium. The doubleheader will begin at 5:00. General admission tickets for this game will cost $5.
"We are excited about the chance to take part in this international event," said Jackals assistant general manager Elisabeth Unley. "We have a vast Russian population in the neighboring communities and we are looking forward to giving them the opportunity to watch their hometown team and the team from their homeland."
The Russian National Team will spend one week in the United States playing five games against four teams from the Northeast League.
The Jackals will play two other pre-season games, Thursday May 15th at home versus the Allentown Ambassadors at 11:00 A.M. and Monday May 19th at Allentown.
The 2003 regular season will begin for the Jackals on May 22nd with a game vs. the Berkshire Black Bears at Yogi Berra Stadium. The next night, Friday the 23rd of May, will feature the first of four post-game fireworks shows this season at Yogi Berra Stadium.
