Jackals Scratch Across Six Runs to Complete Four Game Sweep
May 27, 2019 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
New Jersey Jackals News Release
The Jackals used an eighth inning rally to defeat the Aigles 6-2. The contest was a scoreless pitchers duel through the first three frames until Rich Stock muscled a two run homerun over the right field wall.
The Aigles tied the score in the sixth on a Tucker Nathans solo home run and a Raphael Gladu RBI triple. The teams would trade zeros until the bottom half of the eighth. A couple wild pitches lead to Jay Gonzalez crossing the plate to take the lead and the Jackals poured on three more from shaky Aigles pitching and defense.
Garret Harris gave up the only two runs for the Aigles, going six and two thirds allowing 5 hits and striking out 7. Javier Reynoso came in for the final seven outs picking up the win. Reynoso didn't allow a hit and struck out three.
Brendan Butler also allows two runs on the day and takes a no decision. Butler pitched 7 innings giving up two runs, striking out 5. Tyler Ferguson picked up the loss entering the game in the eighth and allowing the go ahead run to score.
The Jackals will be back in action tomorrow night at 7 P.M. hosting the Québec Capitales.
