IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Elmira Jackals and the Florida Everblades battle in Game 5 of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semifinals tonight at Germain Arena, with the action beginning at 7:30 p.m. Elmira fell to Florida in Game 4 on Wednesday night, 2-0, as the Jackals were shut out for the second time in the series and were pushed to the brink of elimination in defeat. The Jackals must win tonight to force a sixth game, which would be played in Elmira on Monday at 7:05 p.m. if necessary.

JACKALS SET OUT TO ACHIEVE RARE FEAT

The Jackals will try to become the fifth team in ECHL history to win a best-of-seven series after trailing three games to one. Elmira became the eighth team in the league's history to win a best-of-five series after dropping the first two games, as the Jackals came back to defeat the Reading Royals in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The Cincinnati Cyclones were the most recent club to back from a three games to one deficit, battling back to defeat Reading in seven games in the 2010 American Conference Finals.

LANDMARK GAME TONIGHT

Tonight's Game 5 marks the furthest into the playoffs the Jackals will have ever ascended since entering the ECHL. Elmira was swept in its only other second round appearance in its Kelly Cup Playoffs history, falling in four games to Cincinnati in the 2009 North Division Finals.
