New Jersey Jackals News Release
Little Falls, NJ â The New Jersey Jackals utilized the long ball to throttle the Elmira Pioneers 13-5 in their first exhibition game of the 2005 season.
The Jackals jumped out on top early in the bottom of the first. John Lyndsey crushed a three run homerun on the first pitch he saw, making it 3-0, Jackals.
Elmira scraped together a couple of runs in the top of the third, cutting down on New Jersey lead. Three more runs were tacked on by the Pioneers in the fourth off a three run homerun by Ronnie Deck.
New Jersey then took over. Homeruns by Rich Gomez and Joe Jiannetti helped New Jersey eventually stretch their lead to 13-5, and that is the way it ended at Yogi Berra Stadium.
The New Jersey Jackals begin their 2005 season on Friday, May 27, 2005, as they host the Can Am Grays. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm at Yogi Berra Stadium. For tickets and other information, please call the Jackals Ticket Office at 973-746-7434 or visit www.jackals.com.
