Elmira Jackals News Release

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today they signed defenseman Gabe Yeung for the 2005-2006 season and have signed defenseman Matt Moore to a training camp agreement.

At 6'5" 230 lbs, Yeung adds some much needed size to the Jackals defensive corps. The Madison, Wisconsin native played for the Asheville Aces of the Southern Professional Hockey League last season, but only appeared in 27 games, thus keeping his rookie status. The 22-year old also played one game for the Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL in 2004-05. Yeung had 1 assist and 64 penalty minutes for Asheville last year. He began his professional career at the tail end of the 2003-04 season, appearing in four games for the CHL's Lubbock Cotton Kings.

Moore, a native of Burlington, Ontario, has signed an agreement for the Jackals preseason camp. Last season the 25-year old defenseman played for former Jackal Jim Bermingham, Head Coach of the Knoxville Ice Bears (SPHL), scoring 14 points (2 goals, 14 assists) and adding 98 PIMs in 55 games played. Moore played 4-years of college hockey for Division III Rochester Institute of Technology (R.I.T.).
