Jackals Bring Back Rookie of the Year

The Elmira Jackals, 2003-2004 United Hockey League Eastern Conference Champions, announced today that they have re-signed Nathan Gillies for the 2004-2005 season. The Forward joins Jamie Thompson and Eddy Lowe as returning players from the 2003-2004 Season. He becomes the eighth player on the roster for the upcoming season.

Last Season Gillies scored 23 goals with 16 assists for 39 points in 63 games played, with 122 PIMs. He chipped in with 6 goals and 6 assists during the playoffs. Gillies also played nine games in the AHL last year. He played his college hockey for Union College in Schenectady, NY. He was the Dutchmen's Team Captain in 2002-03.

"Nathan was our Rookie of the Year last season," stated Jackals Head Coach Todd Brost. "He has an unbelievable work ethic and competes every shift. Nathan brings great leadership, character and grit to the team."
