New Jersey Jackals News Release
Little Falls, NJ - Aaron Myers (10-4) put a stop to the New Jersey Jackals two game slide with a complete game shutout to help the Jackals to a 2-0 win against the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs Sunday afternoon at Yogi Berra Stadium.
Myers pitched the full nine innings for his league leading 6th complete game of the season, giving up six hits. He struck out five and didn't walk a batter. After giving up a hit to Steve Truitt in the second, Myers retired sixteen straight batters.
The Jackals took their first lead of the series in the 3rd inning on a bases loaded walk by Bilyy Rich after back to back to back singles by Dan Grice, Billy Brown and Chas Terni. Terni increased his hitting streak to 12 games with the single. Todd Johannes gave the Jackals a 2-0 lead in the 6th inning with an RBI single.
Myers cruised until the 9th inning, when the Diamond Dogs threatened with the bases loaded and no outs. After three consecutive bunt base hits, he retired the side in order, including getting the league leading homerun hitter Vic Davila to pop up to third.
